WMF World Cup 2023 brought many new highlights and reasons to be proud of for all those that made success.

Some teams were gearing up along the way, some were implementing serious strategic steps and it all depended on the composition of the team, trust in their own strenghts and motivation to push forward, game by game.

After getting safe back home, having some time to steam out, review the overall experience and collect all the best memories, we asked the head coach of Hungarian team what their recipe to climb to the Top 3 in the world of minifootball was.

Lajos Nagy shared: "We didn't set ourselves a goal. We knew we had a strong team that could beat anyone, but we were also aware of our limitations. We planned step by step, match by match. Only the next task was always in front of  our eyes.”

And when it comes to the psychological resilience of your team – were there any tactics? “I have considered mental preparation to be very important, but further development is needed here as well.“

Is there anything to be particularly proud of concerning your performance during the WMF World Cup?

“I am most proud of the fact - which is also my philosophy - that we functioned as a real community. Not 13 individuals, but a great TEAM  fought during the WC. I'm a lucky man to coach guys like that.“

So nice to hear! And what are your plans for the near future?

“We have to work hard to be a contender for the WC or EURO.  4-5 national teams are ahead of us. We can catch up with them with  persistent and hard work.”

Good luck in all your pursuits and do not forget to share your developments with the minifootball family!
