The draw for the WMF World Cup 2025 has taken place and it’s thrown up a few tough groups.
On Wednesday March 12 Group Draw Ceremony took a place in Baku in The Ritz-Carlton Hotel. Four special guests participated in the official ceremony draw.
There’s 3 continents represented in Group A, where the host nation, Azerbaijan, will be quietly content with the outcome.
Mauritania, Slovenia and Bahrain make up their group.
In Group B, reigning world champions, Romania, lead the way from pot 1, they’ll face France, Chad and Uzbekistan.
It’s an all European affair in Group C, where Hungary, Ukraine, England and Turkey battle it out.
Slovakia, Bulgaria and Portugal will face off in Group D for the two spots in the knockout stages, India make up the group but it will rank amongst the biggest upsets of all time should they get the better of their illustrious opponents and progress.
Mexico and Montenegro will be expected to qualify from Group E but Thailand and Costa Rica will have other ideas.
The group of death is undoubtedly Group F where it’s anybody’s guess who will qualify for the Last 16. The second best team at the last World Cup (Kazakhstan) and former winners the USA (2015) are the top two ranked teams in this group, but Bosnia and Herzegovina and Poland will believe they can prove they’re more than a match for the top 2.
Group G is another tricky one where Czechia, Georgia, UAE and Argentina fight it out. The Czechs will start as favourites to qualify but we wouldn’t be surprised whichever two teams come out in the top two positions.
Lets see who will become WMF World Cup 2025 Champion!
